Shravni Aterkar is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and an EMDR-trained professional. She is a relational, attachment-based therapist who works with adults and young adults, creating a space where clients can explore their stories, reflect on their experiences, and define their own paths to healing. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, and she views therapy as a collaborative process, serving as a witness and guide in her clients’ journeys rather than dictating what their stories should be.

As a South Asian therapist, Shravni brings both personal and professional insight into the experiences of navigating family, cultural expectations, and identity. She is particularly passionate about working with South Asian communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC clients, and anyone navigating life in spaces where they might feel unseen. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel recognized, heard, and empowered to set boundaries, reclaim their voices, and explore their identities safely.

Shravni integrates EMDR and relational approaches, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tools and techniques, to support healing from trauma, intergenerational patterns, and complex cultural or family dynamics. Her approach to therapy is person-centered, incorporating elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Polyvagal and Somatic practices. She also enjoys sharing resources, books, and practical tools, often recommending materials that can spark insight or reflection.

Outside of therapy, Shravni can often be found reading, learning, and gathering ideas to bring back into her work with clients. Her hope is to help cultivate a sense of safety, connection, and clarity so that those she works with can move forward in life feeling more grounded and empowered.
