Cindy Berg, LCMHC, earned her master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, in 1989. She is committed to providing both individual and family therapy for children and adolescents. Additional passions include parenting education for those supportive caregivers who wish to foster a child's success via secure attachments. Cindy supports clients who are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit and Hyperactive Disorder, as well as various developmental disorders of infancy and childhood.
Cindy is skilled in a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Child Centered Play Therapy, Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and parent coaching. In addition, she holds certifications for intervention strategies such as Parents as Teachers and Parent Child Interactive Training which are the gold standard of evidenced based care for children and families. Regardless of the challenge, Cindy promotes a strengths-based message: "You are competent. You are valued. You are worthy of respect and safety."
Over the years, Cindy has worked with children in group settings, school systems, community-based programs, and the child welfare system. Her training in brain science, child development, trauma informed care and attachment theory lend themselves well to assessing fruitful pathways for optimal well-being.
